Overseen and advised by faculty and staff within SOAC, MediaLab is an excellent example of PLU's commitment to student-faculty research and a primary way in which such activities provide students with "academic pathway to distinction," while also offering students hands-on learning opportunities.

MediaLab specializes in:

  • Photography
  • Graphic design
  • Writing
  • Video
  • Public relations
  • Advertising
  • Event planning

Documentary film making MediaLab students partner with real-world clients from many different industries throughout the Puget Sound Region. The goal of MediaLab is to help these individuals and organizations achieve meaningful results, while also giving students valuable pre-professional experience.

Comprised of some of PLU's most talented and capable students, MediaLab often
produces two or more documentary films each year, with typically three or more film projects in various stages of production at any given time.

The activities of MediaLab, which operates on an annual budget of roughly $20,000, are made possible by donations to the program. Please help support some of PLU's most talented students!
