BUILD YOUR CAREER SCHOLARSHIP
Take the Next Step in Your Career
The future of the economy remains uncertain, especially for recent graduates and working professionals. Graduate school isn’t just a place to wait out an unstable job market, but rather, it can be a calculated career move! The most important thing to remember is that, in times of economic crisis, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
That said, Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows that graduate-degree holders, on average, had the lowest unemployment rates and highest earnings. If you want to position yourself for a meaningful and successful career, a graduate program can give you the boost you need to secure a meaningful career in your chosen field.
We understand that pursuing your master or doctorate degree may seem financially overwhelming but completing your degree now could open doors to higher paying positions as soon as one year from now. We would like to help make this opportunity a reality for you. With the “Build Your Career Scholarship”, you will find it more affordable to achieve your goals.
We are offering the scholarship for the following two programs: Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science in Marketing Analytics.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Scholarship:
This Build Your Career (BYC) scholarship award is distributed over the course of the academic program. It helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition for the entire degree program; up to $5,000 or $9,000 (depending on the program), not exceeding the program tuition.
A portion of the BYC scholarship will be awarded each term, based on the number of credits for which you register as a percentage of the credits required for the degree program. After the BYC scholarship has been fully spent, scholarship funding will not be available for any additional coursework.
This scholarship can be awarded in addition to a graduate assistantship and alumni tuition discount for which you may be eligible. However, it cannot be used with other PLU scholarships, International Grant, Nordic Grant, and other international student grants.
This scholarship is not available if any single governmental benefit is covering 100% of the student’s tuition cost.
Yes. You probably should apply for federal financial aid, too. Scholarship awards will only reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition, and financial aid can help pay for the rest. PLU’s school code is 003785. Detailed information is available at the Federal student aid website.
PLU’s employee tuition remission benefits cannot be used with the BYC scholarship.
