5 Things You Should Know About Living On-Campus at PLU
Our new Lutes are officially moved in and ready to start their college journey. To kick things off, here are 5 cool facts about living on campus.
1. Find Your Community
At PLU, every residential student is part of a Learning Community (LC), which means you’ll be living and learning with people who share your interests or are at the same stage in their college journey. Whether you’re a first-year, transfer, or upper-division student, your LC offers support and opportunities to connect both in and out of the classroom. Even commuting students have a Lutes Commute Learning Community!
2. There’s a Place for Everyone
Living on campus at PLU isn’t just about having a place to crash—it’s about finding a home where you can thrive. Our eight residence halls are designed to support you academically, socially, and personally, so you can make the most out of your college experience. You’ll be part of a community that’s all about engagement, enjoyment, and success.
3. Choose Your Vibe: Upper or Lower Campus
PLU’s campus is split into two main areas: Upper Campus and Lower Campus, each with its own set of residence halls. Upper Campus boasts five residence halls, while Lower Campus has three. Whether you’re into the bustling energy of Upper Campus or the more chill vibes of Lower Campus, there’s a spot that’s perfect for you.
4. Live in the Tallest Building in Parkland
How cool is this? Tingelstad Hall is not only home to about 360 residents but also holds the title of the tallest building in all of Parkland. If you want to live high (literally) with awesome views and a tight-knit community, this might be your spot!
5. Stay in PLU’s Most Historic Hall
For those who appreciate a little history, Harstad Hall is where it’s at. This iconic building used to house the entire university back in the day and is now home to the Upper Division Learning Community (students who are 20 or older or who have at least Junior class standing). With its single-room setup, it’s perfect for students who want a bit more privacy while soaking up some campus history.
Living on campus at PLU is more than just a place to stay—it’s about finding your people, your purpose, and your place in the world. So, are you ready to make PLU your home?
