Tom Smith, Chair of Theatre & Dance, shares why it’s a great time to study theatre and dance and why PLU is a great place for it.

PLU Theatre & Dance Program Highlights:

  • Cool opportunities. Each season the Theatre & Dance Department produces 4 faculty-directed shows and 4-6 student-directed productions. That’s 8-10 productions every single year!
  • Work with professionals. PLU Theatre & Dance brings in professional guest artists annually to provide workshops, master classes and to work on productions.
  • Get involved right away. The program offers onstage and backstage opportunities for all students. You can get involved as soon as you arrive.
  • Get a degree that opens doors. Choose from Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in Musical Theatre, Acting/Directing and Design/Technical and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theatre. In addition, we offer minors in both Dance and Theatre.
