Benefits Overview
PLU and Campus Life offer a variety of competitive benefits. For example, some of the favorite benefits enjoyed by Community Directors is the ability to live with one’s partner/spouse, to customize their apartments, and to have pets on-campus!
Luke Ruiz, Former Community Director for South & Kreidler Halls: “Setting up a new account for health care was easy and convenient. There is even an app for my smartphone to book and manage appointments with my provider!”
Community Director Live-On Benefits
The Community Director (CD) position is live-on, which means CDs are required to live in an on-campus apartment as part of their role. On-campus apartments come with many amenities, including:
- Semi-furnished, two-bedroom apartment
- In-unit washer and dryer
- Free dedicated parking space
- Meal plan
Dream Gonzales, Community Director for Ordal & Stuen Halls: “Being able to bring my partner, cat, and dog in tow was an important factor in exploring live-on roles. PLU has been more than welcoming to not only myself, but all four of us, and have done well supporting us for a seamless as possible transition.”
Maggie Hendrickson, Former Community Director for Tingelstad Hall: “It [was] great to have my partner live with me in my CD apartment on campus. Our department has been so helpful with making her feel welcomed into the community and establishing this as a home for both of us.”
Marco Polo Ramirez Becerra, Former Community Director for Ordal & Stuen Halls: “I did not come alone, as I am a proud dad of a cocker spaniel mix, Magis, and he couldn’t [have been] happier to be at PLU because he [got] to go to work with me and he [got] all the love and cuddles from so many people!”
