“Stay in Place” for off-campus incident: ALL CLEAR

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department informed PLU that a domestic violence situation had occurred in the 400 block of 122nd street, near PLU, and that one of the involved parties had left the scene with a kitchen knife.
Police and Campus Safety Officers are patrolling the area, and police dogs are being deployed. We ask that everyone remain indoors until further notice. Updates will be added to this post, and an “All Clear” notification will be sent when possible.

As of now, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department is still utilizing search dogs on campus. The suspect is not a PLU member, and all swipe cards are locked to PLU members only. Please continue to stay indoors. -
Apr 26, 2019 @ 12:11am - Police Search Moving Off Campus
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) is still utilizing search dogs in the area, but they have moved off campus and into the surrounding neighborhood. We anticipate being able to lift the Stay in Place status within the next half hour. Please continue to stay indoors. -

PCSD has discontinued their search for the suspect. Normal campus activity may resume.
