PLU Phone Outage

Pierce County has been experiencing telephone outages, to include 911 services. Local 911 services were re-routed and restored earlier this afternoon. The outage continues to impact other businesses and services in the county, and PLU is among those impacted. Here’s what you need to know:

As of this notice, PLU landlines do not have the ability to call out or receive outside calls.

• If you need emergency assistance call 911 from a cell phone.
• Campus Safety can still be reached for emergencies utilizing campus landlines, to include courtesy phones and yellow box emergency phones located around campus. Dial 7911 from a campus landline or push the red button on a yellow box phone to call Campus Safety in an emergency.
• To contact Campus Safety for routine information and service requests via a campus landline, please dial 7441. You may also use a yellow phone during the outage, however please start the conversation with Campus Safety by indicating that you are not calling regarding an emergency.
