Police Activity Near Campus

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is searching the area around 117th St S, East of pacific avenue, for an armed suspect believed to be involved in a shooting in Spanaway. The suspect is not believed to be on the PLU side of Pacific Avenue and at this time there is not known threat to the PLU Campus. There is a heavy police presence in the neighborhood north and east of campus. Please avoid the area if travelling off campus. Campus Safety has been in contact with the sheriff’s department and is continuing to monitor the location of the incident. At this time there is no need for additional action on campus, however we will update if necessary.
