NWAEP Diversity in Environmental Professions Scholarship
Each year, NWAEP awards a scholarship that aims to support the professional development of students who are underrepresented in environmental careers (i.e., BIPOC, women, minorities).
The DEI Scholarship is open to undergrad or graduate students of any environmental science/STEM field, and covers:
- one year of NWAEP membership fees, and
- participation expenses (up to $2,000 for registration, travel, room, and board) for the recipient to attend the National Association of Environmental Professional’s annual conference, this year in Minneapolis in May (they may even be able to present a poster at the conference)
Sometimes it’s hard for people underrepresented in environmental professions to make connections. These networking opportunities would benefit anyone soon to be entering the job market. Scholarship recipient(s) will be introduced to people who will be their future colleagues — and they can gain connections and information about career paths, jobs, and companies.
More information and an application form can be found on the DEI scholarship Flyer 2023 or by visiting:https://www.nwaep.org/NWAEP-Scholarship
Applications for the scholarship are due January 8, 2024.
