Applications for the University of Washington Molecular Engineering Materials Center (UW MEM-C) Summer 2025 REU program are open, and the submission deadline is Feb 15th!!

See the MEMC REU Flyer 2024_111524 and website (https://uwmemc.org/undergraduates/reu/) for details and the link to our application in the NSF ETAP portal.

Students accepted to the program will be embedded in one of the UW MEM-C labs for 9 weeks. They will work with a graduate student and faculty member to develop a research project, gain training in relevant techniques and instrumentation, collect data and finally produce a poster and research abstract. Students will participate in a weekly seminar on undergraduate research covering research ethics, writing a research abstract, and making a scientific poster. They also participate in a weekly materials science special interest group in which they read scientific journals or tour other labs.
