Course Format
This is a 40 hour online course. You may register at any time during the term.
If you need to take a language assessment, you should do that before registering. We prefer Parrot Language Assessments but will accept any that WA State DSHS accepts. If you aren’t sure if you need language assessment, please email ce@plu.edu first.
Once you register and are given access, you have 6 weeks to complete all the assignments, watch all the lectures, and finish all the assessments. You may download any readings, vocabulary lists, and study guides to help you after the 6 weeks are done.
After 6 weeks, you will be removed from the course. If you have successfully completed everything to the instructor’s satisfaction, you will be given a grade a a certificate that you can use to register for a certification exam.
This course does NOT certify a person to be an interpreter. It prepares them to take the certification exam.
Cost for the course is $300 (special introductory price, no discounts available). Test costs are students’ responsibility.
Next class begins June 6. Register now and start class as soon as it opens!
