Biography

Greg Perkinson is transitioning from his most recent appointment as the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) at Southern Oregon University (SOU), where he served from December 2017 to December of 2023. As the VPFA at SOU, he oversaw a broad range of campus operations. He led eight departments:  Business Services, Budget Office, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Planning, Campus Public Safety, Information Technology, Contracts and Risk Management and University Housing. Collectively known as the Business Affairs Council, they managed all non-academic business operations for the university.

Greg formerly led The Boeing Company’s Consolidated Facilities Operations and Maintenance (CFOAM) program, based in Chantilly, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. He served in the public sector for over 34 years and was a mission support senior officer in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Colonel in 2009.

Greg received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Kent State University and a master’s in architectural engineering from Penn State University. He is a registered architect in California.

Greg enjoys being outdoors and is the proud father of his daughter Lauren. He also serves on the boards of two Southern Oregon non-profit organizations and was appointed to the Planning Commission for the city of Ashland, Oregon.
