Global Studies
Global Studies majors will:
- Articulate the complexity of global issues and of solutions to global problems.
- Apply the approaches and methods of multiple disciplines to analyze specific global issues.
- Effectively communicate in written and oral form the complexity of a global issue or a specific solution to a global problem using approaches and methods from multiple disciplines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of translinguistic and transcultural perspectives on the world and its issues.

Chinese and Chinese Studies
Students completing the Chinese minor will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in Chinese at the Novice High proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL.
- analyze the products, practices, and perspectives of and diversity within Chinese-speaking cultures
French and Francophone Studies
Students completing the French and Francophone Studies major will be able to:
- Demonstrate French language proficiency at the Advanced-low proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL.
- Analyze diversity within French and Francophone cultures (in Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia) and of their products, practices, and perspectives.
- Develop an original hypothesis to analyze and evaluate texts (broadly understood) grounded in French language study, research, and critical theory.
Students completing the French and Francophone Studies minor will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in French at the Intermediate-Mid proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL
- Analyze diversity within French and Francophone cultures (in Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia) and of their products, practices, and perspectives.
Hispanic and Latino Studies
Students completing the Hispanic Studies major will be able to:
- Demonstrate language proficiency in Spanish at the Advanced Low proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL.
- analyze the products, practices, and perspectives of and diversity within Spanish-speaking cultures.
- develop an original hypothesis to analyze and evaluate texts (broadly understood), grounded in language study, research, and critical theory.
Students completing the Hispanic Studies minor will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in Spanish at the Intermediate Mid proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL.
