Biography

Katherine Brizuela is a music educator in the Puget Sound region. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Music in Music Education from Eastern Washington University. Mrs. Brizuela taught K-5 general music for ten years in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District and led various before school elementary music enrichment clubs including choir, world music drumming, bucket drumming, and marimba ensemble. She pursues continuing education opportunities and has completed Orff Schulwerk Level I, II, and III from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, two World Music Drumming courses, and most recently, was a participant in the Cascade Conducting Masterclass. Currently, Mrs. Brizuela is one of the directors for Tacoma Youth Chorus and teaches the Music Makers program and conducts the Concert Choir. She also serves as a Summer Arts instructor at Annie Wright Schools and is an adjunct faculty member at Pacific Lutheran University.
