Biography

Mackenzie Taylor has recently returned to her home state after completing a Master’s degree in music from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a versatile and committed performer, participating in the Seattle area’s lively operatic and musical theatre scenes. She recently debuted with Vashon Opera as Valencienne in The Merry Widow and also performed with the company in their production of Cavalleria Rusticana. Mackenzie has performed with the 5th Avenue Theatre, singing in their productions of The Sound of Music and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. During her time in Illinois, she sang the roles of The Plaintiff in Trial By Jury and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with Sinfonia da Camera and soloed with baritone Nathan Gunn. Mackenzie received her Bachelor’s of Music from Pacific Lutheran University and is happy to be returning as a member of the voice faculty.
