Museum of Glass offers free workshops and activities
Tacoma’s Museum of Glass will host a special night of workshops and activities on Friday, Nov. 16, exclusively for college students and their friends.
The event, entitled, “Gather,” will include complimentary glassblowing, glass fusing, and flame-working workshops, admission to their galleries, dancing, a performance by the Seattle sketch comedy troupe, Ubiquitous, and free non-alcoholic beverages and hors d’oeuvres. Activities will run from 6:30 until 10:30 p.m.
This event is the first of its kind for the Museum of Glass, as part of an effort to increase student engagement with its neighboring universities and colleges.
A current student I.D. is required for entry into “Gather,” and each student is invited to bring one, non-college guest age 18 or older. Faculty members are also welcome to attend, with university or college I.D.
Attendees can RSVP to the event through the museum’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/museumofglass.
For those interested in the workshops, reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis, starting Friday, Nov. 2, through www.brownpapertickets.com. Students will be given workshop preference over non-student guests.
