Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering
The polymer summer research experience (REU) program in the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron is open to apply.
This competitive REU program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the University of Akron. Students will participate in an 9-week internship to investigate a fundamental question within the broad disciplines of polymer science and polymer engineering, including chemistry, physics, engineering, and biomaterials. These interns will take part in research and career development activities, discussions outlining their research progress and visits to regional companies. The summer will culminate with an oral or poster presentation of each intern’s research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference.
Support for this 9-week summer 2021 program includes a $5,400 stipend. In addition, on-campus housing is provided.
Our program begins on Monday, June 7, 2021, and concludes Friday, August 6, 2021. For further information, please visit our website: https://www.uakron.edu/polymer/outreach/reu/
