Abby Deskins

Abby Deskins recently joined PLU as the Senior Administrative Assistant in support of the College of Professional Studies. In addition, she is the Coordinator of Educational Outreach Programs. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Abby graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Communication with a Business Concentration. Her experience in facilitating highly engaging community events will aid her in her role to promote connection and interest in the school. Service oriented, she is excited to support the success of the leadership and students by bringing resourcefulness and creativity to create a healthy office environment.

Personal interests include coordinating community events and discovering new trails with her husband and dog. An avid gardener, Abby volunteers for the Orcas Island Garden Club and appreciates all varieties of dance. As a child, Abby attended Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she performed in multiple productions of The Nutcracker. As a team captain for both high school and college dance performance teams, she has learned the value of respecting diversity. Her leadership role provided a developmental opportunity to hone skills on creating vision for teams, inspiring others, and fostering collaboration. She continues today to learn new skills as an aspiring aerial hoop Lyra performer.
