Barbara (Ellis) Newland died August 18, 2013.
Barbara put herself through college at PLC working at the Roxy Movie Theater. She met and married Floyd Newland ’54, and soon afterward they moved to Japan. When they returned to the states they moved to Kirkland, Wash., where they raised horses and Barbara taught kindergarten. After her daughters Vicky and Karen were born, Barbara quit working to take care of them. Barbara later opened an antiques store called Our Gang Antiques with friends. She later worked for GMA Research. In her later years, Barbara became grandma to Danielle, Taylor and Monica.
