Eris Aasland died October 25, 2013
She graduated summa cum laude from PLU at the age of 40, earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She spent her career teaching first grade in the Franklin Pierce School District, retiring in 1983 after 22 years. She and husband, Harold, moved to Lakebay, Wash., and were involved in the Key Peninsula Lutheran Church and Stephen Ministries. She also volunteered at Evergreen Elementary in the Peninsula School District. Later, after moving to Lakewood, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Harold; children Marc and Lisa; grandchildren Sean and Mackenzie; niece Sharon; and brother-in-law O.B. Aasland.
