Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and following PLU’s FERPA Policy Statement, all students must sign a release for faculty/staff to disclose any educational information other than direct observation in a letter of recommendation or reference request. The FERPA Reference-Recommendation Release from the School of Nursing should be completed and filed with the School of Nursing office when the Letter of Recommendation Request form is submitted. Directions to the SymposiumTo get to Pacific Lutheran University, either place the university name or address in Google Search or MapQuest. The campus address is 12180 Park Avenue South, Tacoma, WA. To get to Pacific Lutheran University coming north on I-5 from Portland or south from Seattle, take the WA-512 exit heading east. Then take the WA-7 Exit and turn south on Pacific Highway South. Turn right on Garfield Street. Once on campus, looking for parking lots marked for the symposium.

Student Engagement has a limited number of storage lockers available for student club/organization use. Clubs/Organizations interested in having a storage locker can apply each year for the use of these facilities. Priority will be given to clubs that currently occupy locker space. Available space will be allotted on an as needed basis. Space is available from August until May with limited summer storage opportunities. For StudentsIf you have a sports jersey, please wear it to the events on Thursday and Friday, March 4th and 5th. Thursday: Take the bus downtown! Buses will depart from in front of Harstad Hall at 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 6:00, 6:15 and 6:30 Buses will return you to campus from the Convention Center beginning at 8:45pm Friday: Walk to campus! Most events will take place on or around the UC. See the Program Schedule for locations of specific events.

Earl LovelaceEarl Lovelace was born in Toco, Trinidad, and has lived most of his life on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. His books include The Wine of Astonishment, While Gods Are Falling, winner of the BP Independence Award, the Caribbean classic The Dragon Can’t Dance, and Salt, which won the 1997 Commonwealth Writers Prize. He is the author of the new novel Is Just a Movie, published by Haymarket Books. The novel was named the Grand Prize winner of the 2012 Bocas Literary Festival.
