In certain cases when a new faculty or staff member is hired, and will be moving from another geographic area, a moving allowance may be provided upon approval of the appropriate budget head and Human Resources. The university recognizes that an impending move is an important undertaking and that household goods are valued possessions. Every effort should be made to be good stewards of university resources. The Moving Policy will accompany applicable offer letters or contracts.

Within the staff/faculty profile settings you can add a ‘Why PLU’ statement, both short and long. To access this new feature, look for ‘Why PLU’ on one of the tabs within the profile dialog box. The short statement is limited to a character count and displays on the full profile and in the profile teaser. There is also a long-form ‘Why PLU’ statement that displays on the full profile. To CCWC: I found this photo of Clover Creek in the PLU Archives and was amazed at how calm and serene it looks under this canopy of trees! Planting trees along Clover Creek would be such a great way to restore native vegetation, support riparian ecosystems, and attract salmon back up the creek. It would take a lot of time and effort, but think of how many ways a tree-filled riparian area could improve the health of the creek! Best, Gretchen Johnson

Students who are interested in applying to PLU can take a free lesson with Dr. Gina Gillie. The lesson is an hour long and is an excellent opportunity to get to know the PLU horn studio and music facilities. While you are here, you can also observe an ensemble rehearsal such as the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, or Choirs. To schedule a lesson and/or visit, contact Dr. Gillie at 253-535-7607.
