The State Need Grant  provides need-based financial aid…

     support to PLU students by over $9 million over a two-year period. The State House of Representatives budget proposes an increase of $53 million for serving eligible but currently unserved State Need Grant students and increases State Need Grants for private colleges by 3.5 percent in the second year.  This would mean an additional $3.5 million in State Need Grants for PLU students. The state currently fails to fully fund the State Need Grant, and PLU backfills any unmet need for its eligible students
