The use of safer medical devices and sharps is suggested wherever feasible.  Supervisors are asked periodically to evaluate appropriate safer medical devices as they become available to reduce the risk of injuries and exposures due to sharps mishaps.  Whenever possible, engineered safer sharps shall be used.  If safer sharps are not practical, other methods shall be evaluated to reduce the risk of injury and contamination.

Pacific Lutheran University takes all allegations of Prohibited Conduct very seriously and will not tolerate intentional false reporting of incidents. It is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct to make an intentionally false report of any policy violation, and it may also violate state criminal statutes and civil defamation laws. Any false reports will be addressed using the Student Code of Conduct Procedures.

Students who have testing accommodations while a student at PLU may qualify for testing accommodations during the NCLEX-RN examination. To request testing accommodations the student will need to submit the following documentation to the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission: A letter with her/his application and request for accommodation; A letter from the student’s health care provider providing a diagnosis and identify the accommodation needed; A letter from the nursing
