Dr. Ramstad founded the chemistry department at Pacific Lutheran University, teaching from 1925-1960. Emma began PLU’s work with alumni. The first scholarship was awarded in 1984. In 2010, he earned his Ph.D. in religious studies from Indiana University. A northwest native – from the Portland area – he always wanted to return to the Pacific Northwest.
