The trip was the groups’ first time touring the islands in over 20 years. Hewins ’86, superintendent of Franklin Pierce Schools located in PLU’s backyard, is WASA’s Superintendent of the Year for 2018. As a result, Hewins is a candidate for the national award through the American Association of School Administrators.
