The upper-division global religion course is split between on-campus lecture and discussion and off-campus site visits. A happy accident landed Sandra Estrada ’20 in her “Global Human Rights” course. It resulted in research on child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa, which she presented at an academic symposium at
, associate professor of history. Estrada says making that connection with a faculty member opens doors to create other connections. Sandra Estrada ’20 didn’t intend to sign up for “Global Human Rights” as her required first-year experience course. She decided to stick with it anyway.
