He received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Washington and has taught at PLU since 2003. His recent publications about Jewish-Christian relations in Europe include Heinrich Heshusius and Confessional Polemic in Early Lutheran Orthodoxy (Ashgate, 2010) and Defining Community in Early Modern Europe (Ashgate, 2008), co-edited with Karen E. Spierling.
