Sauvage is a child survivor and child of survivors. Nelly Trocmé Hewett shared the story of her family’s connection to Sauvage as he and his parents fled to Le Chambon where Nelly’s parents were among the leaders of the Le Chambon effort. Funded through the Kurt Mayer Chair in Holocaust Studies. 2014
