Keeping in mind PLU’s mission statement which aims to produce “culturally competent individuals” each professor pushes their students out of their comfort zone to examine their own norms, values, and belief systems and to place themselves in the shoes of another individual. As a result of the efforts by the PLU faculty, I believed each student that leaves PLU is positively impacted by the self-exploration that takes place on campus.
