A dedicated performer of new music, she has premiered works by Marilyn Shrude, Wayne Horvitz, Bern Herbolsheimer, and Laura Kaminsky, among others. She has been featured on multiple live radio broadcasts on such stations as WFMT-Chicago, KUOW and KING FM in Seattle, Maine Public Radio and NPR Performance Today. Her collaborations have included concerts with the Seattle Chamber Players, Avalon String

and Doctoral degrees in percussion performance from the University of Washington School of Music in Seattle, where she was awarded the coveted Boeing Scholarship, among other honors. She is a sought-after performer in many styles of music, working with groups ranging from classical music (such as the Seattle Modern Orchestra) to Mexican banda music to steel band and West African drumming. She performs with Diego Coy Musica Colombiana, Pan Duo, and many other groups, and is a founding member of the

Wenatchee Symphony Orchestra, and the Tacoma Young Artists Orchestra. Her vast interest in contemporary music has brought about numerous new chamber music works for the double bass and she has presented the world premieres. Dr. Jensen has won the Spokane Allied Arts Young Artist Competition, the Helen Snelling Crowe Competition, and was a finalist in the American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition. Receiving her doctorate in musical arts degree in double bass performance at the

exhibitions, including at the National Museum of Natural History (Smithsonian), filmed and written short documentaries to introduce Africa to broader audiences, and had his photographs exhibited and published. He is presently completing the manuscript of a book on contemporary painters and painting in Ethiopia, with the working title, Icons of Devotion/Icons of Trade, and work on a book tentatively titled 3-D Africa that draws on historical photographs. Edwin Gordon and Beth Bolton. He also attended the University of Idaho, earning a Bachelor’s degree in music education, and a Masters of Music (saxophone performance) studying with Robert Miller.
