from her country, Ms. Mahyar has broad experience working with ensembles at all labels in different countries. At Michigan State University, she was the Assistant Conductor for MSU Symphony Orchestra, MSU Concert Orchestra, Musique 21 contemporary music ensemble, and the MSU Opera. There she performed with all the ensembles including conducting opera productions. Previously, Ms. Mahyar served as Teaching Assistant at University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she worked with UMass Symphony

Leadership and Service Award PLU Choir of the West was invited to be a featured ensemble at the National Collegiate Choral Conductors Organization Conference in 2015 (guest conducted by Simon Carrington). Under Nance's direction, Choir of the West won gold awards at the 2011 Harmonie Festival in Lindenholzhausen, Germany, and gold awards plus the Anton Bruckner Prize at the 2015 Anton Bruckner Choral Competition in Linz, Austria. Joseph Haydn, and has played the first American performance of the Haydn Organ Concerto in D, Hoboken XVIII-2, of which he has prepared a performance edition. He has published several arrangements for 4 hand organ. He is past dean of the Tacoma Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and is past president of the Westfield Center for Keyboard Studies. Prior to his appointment at PLU, he taught at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. Paul Tegels has performed extensively in solo and ensemble concerts

At PLU, he currently directs the Wind Ensemble and the University Concert Band and he teaches coursework in the music education curriculum, including: Band Repertoire and Rehearsal, Woodwind Labs I/II, Percussion Lab, Music and Culture, PLUS 100: Transitions to PLU, and he assists with the supervision of student teachers. Dr. Gerhardstein earned a Ph.D. in music education from Temple University where he studied with

, Mexico and Canada, including performances at the International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music in Almería, Spain, the Simón Bolívar Amphitheater in Mexico City, and the Bibliothèque de Dinan, in Brittany, France. Pursuing a dual career as pianist and harpsichordist, Dr. Powers has performed with ensembles including the Washington Idaho Symphony, the Fort Collins Symphony, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Boulder’s Seicento Baroque Ensemble, and the Peabody Chamber Players (under the
