April 23, 2012 PLU named leader in recycling By Katie Scaff ’13 PLU is a leader in recycling among colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada that participated in the international RecycleMania competition. PLU ranked second in Washington and 15th out of the 605 colleges for recycling efforts in the 2012 competition with a recycling rate of 58.7 percent.
