April 26, 2012 Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team earns trip to nationals The PLU Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team won the Northwest Conference Championship this April, securing a trip to the NCAA DIII nationals. The team swept through the conference tournament defeating Willamette 14-10, Lewis & Clark 15-3, University of Puget Sound 15-3, and Whitman 14-13. Going into the conference championships PLU was ranked second in the nation for DIII schools. Nationals will take place on May 19-20 in Appleton

October 12, 2012 ASPLU aims to increase student voices in upcoming election For many PLU students the upcoming election will mark the first chance they’ve been able to vote — at least in a presidential election. In an effort to increase the number of young voters, which make up the largest demographic in this year’s election, ASPLU and several other on campus partners started a new project called Lute Drive. The five-week drive ended on Oct. 5, but it surpassed its goal of registering 300

aerospace, propulsion, aerodynamics and controls of aerial vehicles. The program will stimulate students’ interest in conducting research, and develop their understanding of interdisciplinary concepts through hands-on learning, STEM problem-solving skills, and enhance their ability to apply theoretical concepts to research problems.
