This study measured the concentration of heavy metals in the soil at Point Defiance Elementary school to determine if the school would require a soil clean up. Soil samples were gathered on the outer fields of the school at 24 different sites and then heavy metal concentrations were detected via Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) and ICP-MS.
