Hewins ’86, superintendent of Franklin Pierce Schools located in PLU’s backyard, is WASA’s Superintendent of the Year for 2018. As a result, Hewins is a candidate for the national award through the American Association of School Administrators. The award will be announced in February at the AASA national conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Hewins has deep ties to PLU.
