    support technician with CBRE commercial real estate where he supported over 120 users and three offices in the Puget Sound region. In 1987 John earned an associates degree from Highline Community College. At Highline he was the Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE) scholarship recipient which helped him to continue his education at Western Washington University. John resides in Tacoma and enjoys gardening in his backyard, dogs and traveling to Hawaii whenever possible.

  • Professor Emeritus | Music | Linda Miller retired from PLU in 2024.

    2024. Dr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from New Mexico State University, a Master of Music and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Idaho. Her teaching career included all levels of music—kindergarten through graduate studies.  In addition, she served as Director of Music for several church congregations. As a published author of a music curriculum using hand chimes, Dr. Miller has served as a clinician for Schulmerich.  Her research interest was in musical neuroscience

    inspired by wonderful faculty. I started working as an RN in 2012. I finished my first novel in 2013. I figured reading was not so hard so I decided to go back to school and completed my post bachelor Speech-Language Pathology in 2018. I decided to return to nursing and completed my MSN and then began working as a nephrology nurse practitioner in 2021. I started teaching RN students in 2021. My area of interest is medical-surgical nursing.

    on issues of language and knowledge, especially knowledge about word meanings, in both adults and toddlers. Current studies investigate differences in toddlers’ comprehension of partially known words. Secondary lines of investigation can be described as social cognition (e.g., the effects of physical attractiveness on eyewitness memory, cognitive overload as an explanation for noncompliance with emergency vehicles, or ethical decision making as a function of gender and academic major
