more. Laumb said it’s a contemporary circus with French-influenced flair in which everyone runs everything. She said it’s such an intimate setting that the performers, dressed in steampunk attire, serve attendees cotton candy. Laumb said her PLU education served her well while traveling with the circus. A happy accident landed Sandra Estrada ’20 in her “Global Human Rights” course. It resulted in research on child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa, which she presented at an academic symposium at
, associate professor of history. Estrada says making that connection with a faculty member opens doors to create other connections. Sandra Estrada ’20 didn’t intend to sign up for “Global Human Rights” as her required first-year experience course. She decided to stick with it anyway.
