    Biography Dr. David Ward became Dean of the College of Health Professions in 2022 and is a Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). He arrived at PLU in 2005 and became Chair of the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2009. In addition to these roles, he has served in various leadership positions at PLU (including Budget Advisory Committee and Faculty Affairs Committee) and as a volunteer within the field of MFT and the community.     , Pathways to Culturally Sustaining STEM Teaching with Drs. Simic-Muller and Munro. In this grant they recruit, prepare, and support new teachers’ implementation of ambitious and equitable STEM teaching in Title 1 schools. Dr. Gardiner is also an active member in the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Literacy Research Association (LRA), and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

  • School of Business | sweberva@plu.edu | Vic Sweberg has been an Adjunct Professor in the Pacific Lutheran University’s School of Business from 2013 to the present.  He has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.  Prior to 2013, he had a successful career with The Boeing Company for nearly 30 years.  At Boeing, he served in many capacities and held assignments in program management, strategy development, business development, and leading a variety of innovative growth areas.   As an Executive during the latter part of his career, he formed and led a new division inside of Boeing, the Unmanned Airborne Systems (UAS) division, reporting to the President of Boeing Military Aircraft.

    and was the Boeing Board member at Vanderbilt University, Clarkson University, and the University of Alabama-Huntsville as part of the NASA-Industry-University Centers for Commercial Development of Space. Sweberg is a member of the board of trustees for the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma and the Pierce County American Leadership Forum, also in Tacoma.
