String Audition Repertoire The guidelines and excerpts below are the required materials for string auditions of the Pacific Lutheran University Symphony Orchestra. Violin: A solo excerpt (concerto, sonata, other solo work) of your choice. Please keep it to 2-3 minutes. All of the excerpts listed below from Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 are required to be prepared for the audition day. The audition faculty will choose and ask for a few of them.
