TECBio REU at University of Pittsburgh Posted by: nicolacs / December 11, 2019 December 11, 2019 Summer Research in Computational Biology at the University of Pittsburgh Students will receive classroom training in topics pertinent to the emerging field of computational biology, such as computational structural biology, cell and systems modeling, computational genomics, and bioimage informatics, in addition to a wide variety of theoretical and experimental research projects. Students will

rigorous theoretical courses and cutting-edge applied courses, the latter in many cases taught by professionals from the financial industry. In addition to the finance, mathematics, and statistics courses offered by the program, the students can take courses from all over the university. The MAFN program attracts students whose academic background is in quantitative areas such as mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, computer science, or engineering. Most have previous work experience or

aerospace, propulsion, aerodynamics and controls of aerial vehicles. The program will stimulate students’ interest in conducting research, and develop their understanding of interdisciplinary concepts through hands-on learning, STEM problem-solving skills, and enhance their ability to apply theoretical concepts to research problems.
