Cultural Revolution theme restaurants. She has spent the years from 2006 to the present studying the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 World’s Expo in Shanghai. Hubbert is particularly interested in understanding how urban, educated young adults experience these mega-events and how these experiences reflect upon both their own identities and on their constructions of the nation-state.
