Crawford O’Brien has been part of the Religion department at PLU since 2003, teaching courses in religion and healing, Native American religions, Judaism in America, and religious diversity in North America. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California Santa Barbara, and is the author of Coming Full Circle: Spirituality and Wellness Among Native Communities in the Pacific Northwest, and Religion and Healing in Native America: Pathways for Renewal.

Borderlines (Feminist Press, 2019) was a finalist for the Louise Meriwether first book prize. She finished her novel, Along the Hills, and is working on a nonfiction collection, Broken Blood, and critical monograph, Haudenosaunee Good Mind: Combating Literary Erasure and Genocide of American Indian Presence with Literature Curriculum and Literary Criticism. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Pacific Lutheran University.
