A past regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera

concert, including Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Orff’s Carmina Burana, andFanshawe’s African Sanctus. She’s even recorded with a broad range of popular recording artists, showcasing her versatility in vocal performance. You can hear her as the soloist in the film documentary The Freedom Riders and see her in the feature film The Details.

Connecticut District of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, was a finalist in the Palm Beach Opera Competition, completed fellowships at the Aspen Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and the Britten-Pears Programme in England, and is a graduate of the Seattle Opera Young Artists Program and the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin College. She is a passionate teacher and an active member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she serves on the board of

Symphony, and the Northshore Concert Band (Evanston, Illinois). Gilliam was the solo euphonium in the Tacoma Concert Band for over 20 years, and was a featured soloist in over 50 performances.  In 2015, Jason was a featured soloist with the band on a tour of Spain.  Jason also was soloist with the band on their 2007 tour of La Croix Valmer, France, and the 2011 tour of Prague, Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest.
