The Svare-Toven Norwegian and Scandinavian Studies Professorship is named in honor of Trygve Svare and Audun Toven. Trygve Svare taught at PLU for more than three decades spanning the 1920s and 1940s. The late Professor of Scandinavian Studies, Audun Toven, founded PLU’s Scandinavian Studies Program.
