Biography
Sarah-lynn graduated from PLU in 2015 with a Vocal Performance degree. During her time at PLU, she sang with the University Chorale for their 2012 tour of Texas and the Choir of the West for their tours of Montana, Idaho, Canada, and their 2015 European Tour. She also was a member of the 2012 National ACDA Choir of the West that gave the Texas premiere of Dr. Brian Galante’s ‘Exsultate’ and the world premiered of Ēriks Ešenvalds’s ‘Northern Lights.’
As a vocalist, Sarah-lynn studied with renowned lyric coloratura, Cyndia Sieden, who provided her many opportunities including joining the 2014 Hawaii Performing Arts Festival as well as singing for “the Ghostess with the Mostest” and Cyndia’s former teacher, Marni Nixon. Through the opera program, Sarah-lynn sang for Wagnerian singers, Markus Brück and Stephanie Blythe.
After PLU, Sarah-lynn joined the conservatory at UMKC where she sang the roles of Die Sandmännchen in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, La Princesse in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, and Rosalinde in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus. She was the vocal winner of the 2018 Concerto/Aria Competition with Griffes’s “Three Poems of Fiona MacLeod.”
In 2021, Sarah-lynn became a middle school music teacher teaching two bands, two orchestras, and a choir as well as leading the after school drama production, and trying out coaching for fast pitch and leading the Pride Club.
