Welcome to the online home of the PLU trumpet studio! Trumpet players here are a diverse group of musicians: some are performance majors, others are music education majors, and many are not music majors, but still consider the trumpet an important part of their college experience. Students can take weekly private lessons from Dr. Zachary Lyman, or from our adjunct trumpet professor, Dr. Edward Castro. Trumpet players can also perform with the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra

Some are majoring in music performance, others want to become music educators, while still others play horn just because they love it. Opportunities in the studio consist of weekly lessons with Dr. Gina Gillie, a weekly horn seminar/horn choir with discussions on various horn related topics as well as performance practice, mock audition

Students select one course from the following: NAIS 244: Environmental Justice and Indigenous People (4) RELI 365: Climate Justice (4) RELI 397: Indigenous Religions and Cultures of the Pacific Northwest (4) Interdisciplinary Advanced Courses in Environmental Studies 8 semester hours Each student will complete these three synthesis courses that integrate methods and content of various academic perspectives to develop approaches to complex environmental challenges.
