the evidence once again, failed. “There were six boxes in his closet,” he said. “He at first said he wouldn’t give them to us, and then announced he was taking a long lunch.” And left. Some of the most damning finds were in those boxes, including company phone books that included numbers to contact the IBM office in the camps. And as to IBM during the war? The company simply provided information to both sides – such as creating the weather reports for both the Allied troops and the German troops

created the Puget Sound Partnership in 2007, which focused on cleaning up Puget Sound using science to get the Sound “fishable, diggable and swimmable” by 2020. The first push to clean up the Sound focused on big industry, but now, Gregoire stressed, cleanup efforts must focus on smaller cumulative causes, such as what habits each of us has that contribute to degradation of the Sound, or other bodies of water such as Hood Canal. “I think if you dove below the surface and saw the discharge areas around

and many others that our school on the Coast is responsible for large sums of borrowed money that must be repaid. We are in duty bound to try every reasonable means of fulfilling our obligations. Perhaps it is the Lord’s will to unlock for us some of the earthly treasures that are deposited here.” Harstad returned penniless—and decidedly goldless—18 months later, having traversed the entire Yukon River. (The economy eventually righted itself, as did PLU.) But Harstad didn’t come back to PLU

what many in the PLU community are feeling this week? It speaks to the fact that all of us must make our own contribution to this effort of listening and understanding if anything is ever to change. All voices have to be heard. Another of the texts in this concert is “A Drop in the Ocean” by Mother Theresa. She wrote: “My work is but a drop in the ocean, but if I did not put that drop, the ocean would be one drop the less.” We all must do our part, this horribly divisive election — no matter the

Both events allowed us to engage with a wide variety of ages while sharing the common interest of swimming with these community members. How has PLU shaped you? Danny: PLU has made me the person that I am today. Without this school and the people within it, I would not be nearly as successful, confident, or happy. I have become a better leader, student, teammate, and person for being a Lute. Bridget: Prior to coming to PLU, I was

I worked with a simulator, and now we get to use the real hardware and work in-person. This project is actually a continuation of a project by a previous capstone group. They finished most of the hardware for the car which has been really helpful to us. Hopefully, after we finish our capstone work, other groups will come and work on it in the future as well. What are some of your goals for the future? I plan on graduating this spring. I am not sure where I would like to work yet, but I do know

being in awe of the advanced high school choir when I heard them sing for us. I also remember enjoying singing our collaborative performance of Bill Withers’s “Lean on Me.” Someone encouraged me to sing out and sway with them. When it comes to singing choral music, I love the feeling that what I contribute as a singer feeds into a collective sound and that what I sing influences other members of the choir just as much as they influence me. Why do you think choral music has stood the test of time and
