  • At PLU, pre-professional advising and counseling is done by the Pre-Health Sciences Advising Team comprised largely of faculty members in the Division of Natural Sciences, but sometimes from other Divisions. Each student interested in a career in the health sciences should meet with an advisor. Together the student and advisor plan course work, assess progress, and discuss career goals.

  • The use of safer medical devices and sharps is suggested wherever feasible.  Supervisors are asked periodically to evaluate appropriate safer medical devices as they become available to reduce the risk of injuries and exposures due to sharps mishaps.  Whenever possible, engineered safer sharps shall be used.  If safer sharps are not practical, other methods shall be evaluated to reduce the risk of injury and contamination.

  • Pacific Lutheran University takes all allegations of Prohibited Conduct very seriously and will not tolerate intentional false reporting of incidents. It is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct to make an intentionally false report of any policy violation, and it may also violate state criminal statutes and civil defamation laws.
