She is passionate about providing patient-centered and evidence-based care to all, while promoting individual preferences and a safe, healthy, and positive birth experience.

Her courses focus on the importance of nursing theory and research as essential components to influencing nursing practice, ultimately resulting in improved patient outcomes through the promotion of evidence-based, competent nursing care. In addition to teaching at PLU, Kristen is also an instructor through the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and teaches fetal monitoring courses to nurses and obstetric providers.
